Our Mission
In the Cleveland CLS, our mission is to
promote scholarship, camaraderie, and best practices among clinicians
committed to treating patients at the medicine/psychiatry interface.
Origins
The Cleveland CLS started in 1979, as an informal group of local clinicians who were interested in consultation-liaison Psychiatry. Early leaders included Drs Richard Lipencock, David Agle, A Dale Gulledge, and Ellen Rothchild. It was through their trail-blazing leadership that the Cleveland CLS became known as a respected medical group throughout Northeast Ohio.

Present Day
From modest beginnings and a small following, the Cleveland CLS has become a well-known and well-respected local medical group, whose Annual Meeting attendance has topped 50 people in recent years.
From 2017-present, Drs Fawad Taj and Jennifer Brandstetter have shared co-president responsibilities. They are thrilled with the continued interest from local trainees and faculty, and welcome all new participants.

Annual Events
Local events
are held twice yearly, one informal gathering in the Fall, and one formal
Annual Meeting in the Spring. These events give participants an
opportunity to network and learn about CL psychiatry, in a convivial
environment, with like-minded individuals.
Future Directions
Our future will be in the hands of trainees, early career clinicians, and established clinicians who will continue to lead the Cleveland CLS into new and exciting arenas.
How To Participate
There are
many ways to get involved with the Cleveland CLS. Interested participants
can attend our annual Fall social event, submit poster or oral platform
presentation abstracts for the Annual Spring Meeting, and more.
